Junior & Development
Young athletes aspiring to race on the world stage or for those still on their development pathway, Drew has unique experience and knowledge in this area, both personally and professionally. Success doesn’t happen overnight and Drew’s coaching philosophy ensures young athletes don’t get burnt out along the way and instead focuses on long term success in the sport, building a strong foundation to ensure longevity. Using the same principals as Drew does with the elite squad but adapting to the age and development of each individual athlete.
Age Group
For age group athletes ranging from sprint to ironman distance, Drew closely works with a select group of athletes to assist them in their triathlon ambitions.
Each week Drew will create an individualised weekly training program utilising Training Peaks, tailored around athletes specific work and family commitments. Before each week commences Drew will be in contact to discuss how the current weeks training is going and plan for the following week. Training will be based around an athletes upcoming races and specific goals, working on weaknesses and enhancing strengths through different styles of training, strength, speed and endurance.
Initially Drew will have a meeting with the athlete to discuss what they want to get out of the sport, any upcoming race plans, work and family commitments, other time restraints and personal goals. This meeting can be done face to face, over the phone, via skype, whichever is easiest for you.
Communication is a key part of Drews coaching philosophy to ensure the programs are suited to each individual athlete. Programs will always be uploaded to Training Peaks ready to go before the new week begins on Monday and are easily adaptable if something arises during the training week.
